Step 1:Preparation Use the guillotine to cut the aluminium sheet to the size what you want. Step 2: Use the cylindrical wood as template to bend the aluminum sheet, give it a initial circular shape. Step 3: Use round plastic hammer to hit the mid part of the sheet, shape it to a concave shape (hit the sheet uniformly, keep the curving shape of the sheet.) Keep hitting until the whole mid part of sheet is concave (shows in next picture) Step 4: This is the time to make the two sides of sheet concave. First, use hammer to hit the side of this curve part, make it curve upward. ( use hand to hold the sheet stand, this will be easy to concave this part) Give an initial curve shape of the sheet and do next step. Step 5: Refine the reverse curve. After defined all the parts of the sheet, use a polishing hammer with a rounds metal stand to make the curve part more accurate and smooth. C arefully stretch and shape the metal, to stretch this eleme
This assignment is a group work which uses the skill we learned in this course before to make a model of the Ferrari 250 GTO First thing is making the template of the car. We download the software Fusion 360 and we got the file for laser cutting. We use 3mm MDF as our material of this template. We put the pieces together and got the template model. And use the masking tape to cover it, and make a surface of the model, it will be look better and look like a car model. We according to the shape of the car, we decide to separate it to 7 parts, so each of members in our group got a part to work . I got the left back part of the car. In order to get the shape of my part, I used the tracing paper to got he shape, and used the metal cutter to cut it. And use the hammer to hit the line where need to curve. next step is try to fit the metal to template and find where need to improve. One thing I know from tutor is not hitting the metal directly on template. 😛😛
